Reporters Awards Podcast, I'm the host Scott Feinberg, and my guest today is one of the

most consequential investigative journalists of our time.

He's only 34, but he already has on his shelf a Pulitzer Prize for Public Service, awarded

in 2018 the same year time listed him as one of the 100 most influential people in the

world, in the wake of his October 10th, 2017 reporting for the New Yorker about sexual

misconduct by Harvey Weinstein, which, on the heels of the New York Times reporting

from five days earlier, helped to bring down that movie mogul and ignite the Me Too movement.

As the financial times described him, he is, quote, one of America's most dogged reporters,

relentless in the pursuit of powerful men alleged to have abused their positions, close

quote, including not just Weinstein, but also CBS Chief Les Moonves and New York Attorney

General Eric Schneiderman, whose downfalls he helped to bring about.

He wrote about his Weinstein reporting in the New York Times bestselling book Catch and

Kill, Lies Spies, and A Conspiracy to Protect Predators, which was published in October

of 2019.

He began rolling out a podcast of the same name, featuring audio of interviews related to

his work in November of 2019, and in July of 2021, HBO, with whom he has a multi-year

deal to produce documentaries, debuted Catch and Kill, The Podcast Tapes, a film documentary

series version of that podcast, directed by Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbado, and on

which he served as an executive producer.
