Summary
So much for a leisurely Sunday start to Roland Garros. Catherine, David and Matt convene at the end of a day which saw Ons Jabeur upset by Magda Linette in the first match of the tournament on Court Philippe-Chatrier. What happened to Jabeur? What was the feeling like around the grounds when she lost? And will this defeat have lasting effects as she heads to Wimbledon? Elsewhere, we talk about unsurprising but sad defeats for Garbine Muguruza and Dominic Thiem, Felix Auger-Aliassime's fightback, a rusty performance but a routine win from Carlos Alcaraz, the way Coco Gauff's draw has opened up, David's first French Open experience, and an anti-climactic result for Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. Looking ahead to tomorrow, why is Naomi Osaka vs Amanda Anisimova scheduled on Lenglen at 11am?

| 0:32.7 | quite frankly, as he has been throughout day one of the French Open 2022. The Bullring was a |
| 0:39.7 | lovely court, wasn't it? I don't know, I'd love to know. It was a lovely court. It was brilliant, |
| 0:46.5 | it was atmospheric. I'm very pleased though that there's some wide open space now where the |
| 0:51.9 | Bullring used to be because that's something that this site has always missed. Yeah, to use a |
| 0:58.8 | football analogy, given we've actually been watching quite a lot of football today, lots of tennis as |
| 1:02.9 | well, but we did get a bit distracted by the football. I feel like the Bullring was good as some |

| 1:30.4 | and there's a lot of closed food stands over both of my shoulders because it's around about |
| 1:36.5 | five past nine on day one of the French Open. There are a few spits and spots of matches still |
| 1:42.4 | going, but the majority of the day's business has been done. Well, the days of the slightly |
| 1:50.5 | slow, stuttering Sunday starts to the French Open seemed to be over because they rather hit the ground |
| 1:57.7 | running this year, didn't they? There was a strange atmosphere to Onnes-Jabers' loss on the first |
| 2:07.6 | match of the day on Philippe Chattrier today. It was all over extremely weird, I thought. |
| 2:15.8 | Yeah, I think it started weird because it was empty pretty much when the players walked out, |
| 2:21.2 | and that's because it was scheduled at 11 o'clock in the morning. And whilst Amalemirasmo and |
