by the contents of a rock on Mars

after it was split open by the Curiosity rover.

We'll have details coming up on cool stuff. Well, for a story from CNN, the Curiosity rover on Mars has made perhaps its most unusual find to date, rocks made of

pure sulfur. A discovery made seemingly an accident after the one-ton rover happened to drive

over a rock on the surface and cracked it open, revealing yellowish-green crystals that have

never before been spotted on the red planet.

Now, adding to the curiosity, and I'm using that, I guess, as a pun here, because the name of the rover,

scientists say the condition in which such crystals form is not associated or are not associated with the area of Mars that the rover was actually exploring.

Per Ashwan Vasavada, a Curiosity Project scientist at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California,

quote, I think it's the strangest find of the whole mission and the most unexpected.
