Welcome back to the Daily Poem. I'm David Kern, and today is Tuesday, December 1st, 2020.

0:08.0

And I am so glad to be back with you. I should apologize for the extended absence of this podcast.

0:14.1

I've been preparing, along with my wife, to open our bookstore. The bookstore is now open.

0:18.1

You can Google Goldberry Books if you'd like, check it out, but the bookstore

1:18.1

he is the only poet to receive four Pulitzer Prizes for Poetry.

1:21.9

It's just absolutely incredible.

1:24.0

He was the name of the Poet Laureate of Vermont

1:25.8

and also won the Congressional Gold medal in 1960 for his poetry.

1:29.9

And the poem that I'm going to read to you today is called Christmas Trees.

1:35.4

It's not one of his shorter ones, so I'll read it twice, but I'll probably keep my comments relatively to the point, really totally simple, maybe make a few observations,
