You're listening to the second part of my countdown of favorite political films, my personal

favorites.

And in our last episode, Part one, of my favorite political films, we left off at the

Michael Crichton political thriller, coma, which was at number 12 on my list of my favorite

political horror and sci-fi films.

And now we start at number 11.

This movie might surprise you that this is, to me, one of the movies to make it on my horror sci-fi list of movies with strong politics.

Ranking in number 11 is the James Cameron sequel to

aliens, aliens, from 1986. If you've seen the movie, you probably like, what the fuck's Robbie

talking about? This is just like a straight-up gung-ho military movie. Like, how could this possibly

be like an anti-corporate or anti-government movie?

Well, I'll explain to you.

In the first alien movie, spoilers, for those who haven't seen it,

it's discovered that the Nostromo, the spaceship, that all these,

basically they're like blue-collar, you know, space truckers.

It's kind of the way they're represented in the movie.

That they're all expendable and that the only robot placed on board was given instructions by the corporation

to bring home this dangerous alien specimen at the expense of the entire crew.

That's when you learn that this corporation is not, is actually the villain

of the movie. It's not just the alien that's trying to kill everybody. It's that the company
