Summary

On Thursday (kinda unexpectedly), Lakers General Manager/Vice-President of Basketball Operations Rob Pelinka addressed the media ahead of the following Tuesday's Media Day, and the officially opening of the season. Over twenty-ish minutes worth of questions, a lot of items were addressed, including skillsets sought during free agency, defense, the team's anticipated vaccination status, the role of Talen Horton-Tucker and much more. There will be more to chop up over the next week or so, but the Kamenetzkys wanted to immediately hit on a few points that jumped out at them. Hosts: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: Pelinka says the Lakers heavily prioritized ball-handling, shooting and a return to more traditional options at center while seeking out players during free agency. Or, obviously, while acquiring Russell Westbrook. What does that say about how they plan to play this year? SEGMENT 2: Pelinka says the Lakers should, by opening night, be entirely vaccinated. The Kamenetzkys discuss the implications of this happy development. Plus, the return of fans!!! SEGMENT 3: Both Pelinka and Frank Vogel (in a separate interview) have talked up Talen Horton-Tucker as a potentially big part of next season's defense. Considering he's thus far been a liability, this would be a very important step. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!
