Happy Friday, or whichever day you're listening to this podcast, hopefully it is Friday, and I am so excited to share our very first bonus episode of RJ Answers.

0:11.8

We are answering your career questions right here, and in this episode, I had the opportunity to speak with Celine.

0:18.5

She's 22 years old from Los Angeles. She recently graduated from college,

0:23.5

and she was looking for some advice. So without further ado, here is our inaugural RJ Answers.

0:32.3

Hello. Hi, Celine. This is Rebecca Jarvis. How are you? Hi. I'm good. How are you?

0:38.1

I'm good. You're on no limits. Yay. I'm so excited to be on.

0:42.9

Well, I'm thrilled to have you with us. So tell me a little bit about yourself and what we can do for you. What questions we can answer for you.

0:50.2

Okay. Well, I just graduated in May from Cal State Northridge.

0:55.6

I majored in broadcast journalism.

0:58.2

Congratulations.

0:59.8

Thank you.

1:00.6

1:33.3

1:39.3

Those are both great, great internships, and I love that you're in the ABC family already. That's fantastic.

1:45.4

One of the things I would recommend to you, first off, you have two amazing resources already at

1:50.5

your fingertips, working for the Daily Mail on freelance, working for ABC 7 in LA. Both of those

1:56.0

opportunities, you're already in the door. And what you make of things once you're in the door has a lot to do with what you end up doing in terms of new opportunities. So one thing I would tell you to do, and maybe you're already doing this, but reaching out to people in the workplace, for example, at the Daily Mail, people whom you admire, writers whom you admire, editors whom you admire, sending them a note, telling them, hey, let's grab coffee sometime.

2:21.9

Have you done anything like that?
