after the mortar hit, a bunch of people were wounded and killed and it was bloody mayhem,

etc. These are teenage rebels fighting the Qaddafi's forces and a bunch of journalists,

and no one knew what to do with a bleeding groin wound, right? I mean, those are very, very dangerous,

but if you stuff the wound and put pressure on it, you on it, you're not going to stop the blood loss, but you might slow it down enough that you deliver the person to the hospital, you know, still barely alive. And at that point, they get a transfusion, and then it's game on, right? And now it's like, oh, now we have a chance, right? You do nothing. They're dead in three minutes. And so I realized that most journalists and myself included,

that, you know, we really, journalists collectively just don't, don't have any medical training.

So I started reporters instructed in saving colleagues. And it was to train freelance war reporters

in frontline combat medicine.

How can I help? How can I be useful in ending needless suffering? Do not be afraid of work
