This is a privilege to be with you, the faculty and your remarkable students on this very special morning.

It's an honor to be back here in the Marriott Center on this court where memories flood my mind, both the thrills of

victory and the agonies of defeat. Now speaking of defeat I got to show you something you got to give me a personal

moment here. This is my this is my basketball uniform and you think you're laughing right now just wait for a minute. One of my professional colleagues told me I needed to be vulnerable here today a little bit and show empathy.

I'll be vulnerable. You show me empathy. All be vulnerable.

You show me empathy after you see this.

These are the shorts we wore.

They ran out of that poly material or something.

People used to say to us,

people used to say to us,

boy you were probably pretty good back in the day and I say, well, there was only like

five, six, seven of us willing to actually put these things on.

I mean, that's how you made the basketball team back then. This is my jersey. I was very proud

to wear the name Brigham Young across my chest and to represent the Lord

Jesus Christ in his university and I can't thank you enough because if you notice the number 14

they retired my Jersey if you'll look right up there. Now this was before President and
