Summary

When it come to the church, many of us create an idealized version of what community should look like in our heads. But, the reality is that community can often be messy and difficult. This week, as we continue in our series through 1 Thessalonians, Paul gives the church some guidance and encouragement on how to care for one another in a way that points back to Jesus. 0:45.5	he told the story about when he got married five years ago I got him a baton
0:50.1	and I ordered this track baton it was pristine it was clean I had him and his
0:55.0	wife's name engraved on it I had the date of their wedding and like a Bible
0:58.6	verse it was like run the race man or something like that and and he told that
1:02.3	story and then he said so for your wedding I want to give you this this is a
1:08.8	baton that we ran with when we were in high school I don't know why he still
1:12.3	has it was a long time ago and we decided that we were gonna take some wide
1:17.8	athletic tape and decorate the baton and use it in a race and we did and we got
1:23.1	disqualified because apparently you can't do that so he gave this to me it has
1:26.5	since been battered battered and dented and the white tape if you can tell is
1:31.7	like really gross and disgusting and yellow and he said I'm giving you this
