What's up on a Thursday? I am Brian Scott Rippey. Thanks for tuning into another edition of the Rippy Rights podcast.

We have a pack show for you coming at you on a not normal day.

That's a really weird way of saying it's a Thursday. I meant to get a Wednesday show out for you

guys. But we had a couple of scheduling conflicts per se in terms of trying to get a couple

interviews lined up. I wanted to make sure I had all my ducks in a row and get out a complete

show for you guys. So we are doing this on a Thursday,

but a pack show nonetheless. Off the top, we're going to talk to Michael Portner. He is the founder

of Delta Sports Group, a representation and marketing agency, also known as a sports agency,

based out of Cleveland, Mississippi. And we talked a lot about NIL.

He's an NFLPA certified agent.

What it takes to kind of get into the sports agency.

He's an interesting guy.

He worked for Lee Steinberg out in Newport Beach, California.

If you don't know who that is, if you've seen the movie Jerry McGuire,

that movie's loosely based off his life. He represents Patrick Mahomes. He represented pretty

much every major sports figure, really from the 80s and 90s on. And as a guy that basically

invented, not invented, but revolutionized the sports agency and industry, admitted in actual

industry itself. So Porter has a lot of interesting experience and now is starting up his own

sports agency, DSG Athletes.com. Got a lot of interesting stories and perspective on, you know,

we hit a little bit more on the NIL side of it because I think that's more relevant to Ole Miss and you guys in particular in the ends and outs of that and what you can, can I do how to approach kids, you know, in terms of getting them deals and things like that.
