Summary

Jesus is a rule-breaker. He went to the well when no one else would, in a land no Jew would go to, to a woman no man would talk to, with a reputation no one would want to be around. Our Savior pursues us just like the woman at the well, with love despite all we have done. For more information, visit lakepointe.church/dailydrive

goes to a place that no other Jewish person intentionally went to. It was a place called

Samaria. There was big time strife, racism, and judgmentalism between the two people groups.

came to his town in Samaria called Sychar. Near the plot of ground Jacob had given to his son,

1:19.3

Joseph. Jacob's well was there in Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well.

1:26.1

It was about the sixth hour. Now the Jewish day began at

1:30.3

6 a.m. So you can do the math, and you can see that Jesus was sitting there at that well

1:34.5

at high noon, in the heat of the day. And that well would have been a pretty lonely place around

1:40.0

noon. You see, women in that culture would typically go fill their water pods at dawn or sundown

1:45.0

when it was much, much cooler. Nobody, I mean, nobody came to do that at noon. Unless you didn't want to be seen.

1:52.5

Unless you didn't want to walk up and hear the huddle of whispers fall silent. Verse 7. When a Samaritan
