Summary

Today’s first call is with Steven who at age 16 moved from Haiti to the United States with only his little brother. Now, 12 years later, their mother will finally be joining them, but they can’t agree on who she should live with. 


Next to call in is Shannon who is 8 months pregnant and single after her boyfriend had an affair. Now her ex wants to attend the child’s birth and expresses regret for leaving despite now living with the other woman.

It's interesting you asked me that because my entire life I've never felt like I was

safe in my own home so it goes. I was sexually molested as a little

girl in my childhood home. When 9-11 happened, I was living in my West Village apartment.

I thought I was going to be there forever. I just had my baby in my bathtub two months prior and then 9-11 happened and I left New York. You know, I split. I had a house fire 12 years ago, burned this house down in Malibu by accident.

And so it was like a running theme of never feeling rooted somewhere.

And for the first time in my life,

I've been building this property that I now live on in Malibu.
