On the evening of April 14, 2014, 44-year-old Christine Kirk dialed 911 and told the dispatcher

that her husband was acting erratic.

She told the dispatcher, or at least what the dispatcher understood, was that he had been

smoking marijuana and was talking about the end of the world.

He had told his wife that he wanted her to shoot him.

Christine informed the dispatcher that there was a gun in the house, but that it was locked

in a safe.

She also explained that there are three sons, all under the age of 13 years old, were

The dispatcher sent officers to the house on a domestic disturbance call.

The officers were told that there was a gun in the home, but nobody had possession of
