behind Enemy Lines. Tonight's episode, The Boy Who Kicked Conspiracy Theories. Well, it

has been a very interesting few weeks here at Radio Free Mormon and also at Mormonism

Live. Now, The Boy Who Kicked Conspiracy Theories is the title of tonight's show, and The Boy

doing the kicking is me, RFM, and also Bill Reel. And the conspiracy theory that we have been

kicking over and over again for the last few weeks is the conspiracy theory that Joseph

Smith did not practice polygamy. I remember a few weeks ago on Mormonism Live when we did

the first episode on this subject, all we did was present the contemporary evidence that

Joseph Smith practiced polygamy. And after we researched the issue and made that presentation,

it seemed that we had a pretty good case from the available evidence that Joseph Smith

did in fact practice polygamy. It is a position that all certified and peer-reviewed historians

both inside the church and outside the church agree with, but there is a small subset,

although perhaps even a growing subset of Mormons within the church and some of them outside

the church, who are nevertheless maintaining the minority position, and indeed what I would

consider to be the conspiracy theorist position that Joseph Smith did not practice polygamy,

but all the evidence that appears to show that he practiced polygamy is really not evidence

at all. These are all the machinations of Brigham Young and ill-designing people who wanted

to paint Joseph Smith with this polygamy brush in order to either support their own practice

of polygamy or just to defame Joseph Smith. There were a lot of comments that were made

to that episode, and then sometime after that episode aired, one of the most prominent

polygamy deniers, Michelle Stone, posted a response video of about two and a half hours
