It was with great sadness that the world learned of the death of Murray Walker

on Saturday 13th March 2021 at the age of 97.

To millions of Formula One fans around the world,

Murray was much more than a Formula One commentator.

He was the man that brought their passion to life

with his unmistakable voice soundtracking some of the greatest moments in the sports history.

My goodness, the third leader in two laps.

Oh, my goodness, I have never seen that before.

This is the opportunity in the centre looking for,

and he's going to help. Oh, my goodness, this is fantastic.

In early 2019, I had the privilege of visiting Murray at home in the new forest

for the special 1000th race episode of this podcast.

Ever gracious with his time, Murray was a delight as he regaled me with his incredible

life story from the battlefields of World War II to Formula One commentary boxes across the globe.

So it only seemed fitting that in tribute to Murray,

a man who meant so much to so many, we repost that conversation for you.
