Summary
On today's show, in Part 1, Graham and Taylor take a look back at the final group stage games of Euro 2022, and discuss which teams were the most disappointing (Norway), which players we will be sad to see head home (a couple of the Norwegians), and what we learned ahead of the knockout round (Norway won't be in it).
In Parts 2 and 3 (starting around 19:43) we take an in-depth look at each of the quarterfinal match-ups, and try to predict the most likely tactics, 1v1 battles, and potential results.
England v Spain: best all-around team vs the most technical team? Who wins and who changes their game plan first?
Germany v Austria: high press and physical vs high press and physical = Not an ideal draw for Austria, but can they spring another surprise?
Sweden v Belgium: get excited! get excited? Plus, The Return of Blackstenius (our new movie title, if nothing else)
France v Netherlands: how might both teams line up without their most important attacking player, and why the Dutch will need to be less open if they want to contain a potent French attack.

| 0:00.0 | Hello, hello, and welcome to the totalcer Show. My name is Taylor Rockwell. We are recording today with the U.S. women's national team having reaffirmed their domination of North America. Joe and I will be talking in depth about the USA's victorious Concaf W championship campaign on tomorrow's show, but that's for North America. |
| 0:39.7 | Over in Europe, where everyone is apparently about to spontaneously combust, we aren't yet sure |
| 0:44.1 | who will reign supreme, but we do know who will be in the knockout rounds of the 2022 euros. |
| 0:49.0 | Here with me to break down those matchups and take a look back at the results that have shaped |
| 0:53.1 | the tournament is a man |
| 0:54.4 | who I have to believe is enjoying Ryan Bailey not being here to talk about a strong England |
| 0:59.5 | national team. It's Graham Ruffman. Hi Graham. Hi, Taylor. I am frankly shocked that Ryan has |
| 1:05.4 | passed up the opportunity to gloat. Scotland aren't even at this tournament. This is an absolute |
| 1:10.0 | gimmy for him. England are possibly going to win a major tournament. Scotland aren't even there. Where are you, Ryan Bailey? |
| 1:16.6 | On vacation. That's where he is. Cruising around Europe, living it up, and avoiding getting to talk about a very, very good England team. I have wondered on more than one occasion if you are quietly enjoying that you |
| 1:27.5 | haven't had to deal with Ryan talking gleefully, but that does set the stage for him to come back |
| 1:31.7 | in in the semis of the final to then act as though he's been here the whole time. That is a gamble |
| 1:37.1 | for him though. So if England win the whole thing and he waits until that moment to come |
| 1:42.2 | into the conversation, then obviously he has won that |
| 1:44.4 | gamble. But if they lose or they don't win the tournament, then I win that gamble, my friend. |
| 1:51.5 | We'll see how it plays out. If England do end up winning, would you like to sit that pot out, |
| 1:56.1 | Graham? Would that make you feel better? Yeah, I mean, I am planning on expiring from the heat |
| 2:00.3 | on that day, so |
| 2:01.6 | pencil it in. Actually, since that's been such a talking point, I alluded to it in the introduction. |
| 2:08.6 | Like, this is a very, maybe obvious thing for some, but it's a thing I consistently forget. |
| 2:13.6 | Graham, like, there is heat that we've talked about a lot, and you've got like the heat in Arizona that Joe will readily mention, but Joe also has air conditioning in his home. |
| 2:23.9 | Everyone has air conditioning. That is less so a thing over in the UK and in Europe. Is that fair to say? |
