All right time for another edition of Fighting for the Faith.

Day before Thanksgiving.

So on the day before Thanksgiving, you say something like, Thank God it's Wednesday, TGIW.

Maybe I'm just overthinking it. Woot. Oh man we got some good stuff we got listener email today got some responses regarding

yesterday's program on baptism

oh boy we got a brand new Marty Python's Circus Church today. In fact, I'm so excited

about this one, it's ridiculous. We got, we almost have to play that like up front. That's the best way I can put it.

The latest Marty Python Circus Church takes Rob Bell's Lectio Devina concepts which really

aren't even his own. Lectio Devina was developed by mystic monastics, you know, back in the dark ages and it's

supposed to, you know, it's not about really learning what God's word says, it's about using God's word as a means to an end.

You know, you basically randomly pick a passage from the scripture and you let God's words

shape you. You know, that's the idea. In fact, one of these contemplative

guys, his name is Boa. He's got a book called The Trinity, a journal.

And in there he explains the Lectio Devina

as really having four parts.

And I'm gonna give you these four parts

just because it involves Latin phrases

that make me sound smart.

You know, I can fool everybody with this.

So the Lectio Devina, supposedly is the Latin for holy reading, okay?

And it's broken up into four parts,

the lecio, the meditatio, the oratatio, the oratotia,
