could have been a part of that segment.

In Australia, the Mary River Turtle population is once again on the rise after previously

being labeled one of the continent's most endangered species.

The resurgence is due in large part to the efforts of the 800 or so residents

of the town of Tiaro located along the river from which the turtle draws its name. Now the reason

I say this story could have been a part of Weird Wednesday is not because of this fantastic

conservation effort, but instead due to the turtle itself. The Mary River Turtle, one of Australia's largest freshwater turtles, is also known affectionately as the bum-breathing punk for its strange ability to breathe through its cloaca.

Yes, that's exactly what you think it is.
