Alright, so we are concluding our series called the Seven Churches of Revelation this weekend. This will be the last church, the Seven Church. It's the church at Laodicea, and you probably know what most Bible titles would be the Lukewarm Church.

I'm giving the message, restart your relationship. Restart your relationship. We talked about on the first one, you know, how to restore your first love.

And now we're talking about restart your relationship. Alright, so let me read it to you, and then I'll share some things. You're going to hear some things that you probably have never heard about the Lukewarm Church.

Because of what we call contextual exegesis. In other words, drawing the meaning out of the Scripture from the context, the geographical context, the time context, you know, things like that. Alright, so Revelation 3 verse 14.

And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans, right. These things says the Aamian, and that Bamian, by the way, means truth. It doesn't mean so be it. I don't know which preacher started that, but he should have learned his Greek before he said that. But it means truth. So these things says the truth.

The faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God. I know your works that you are neither cold nor hot. Let me just say one thing about the church at Laodicea here. This is the only church that he didn't tell them anything they were doing good.

So just thank God you don't go to the church of the Laodiceans, right. I know your works that you are neither cold nor hot. Now this is a big deal because we misunderstood this completely.

I could wish, in other words, my wish is you were cold or hot. So then because you are lukewarm and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of my mouth. And the Greek word here is vomit, not spit as some version say it is vomit. I wish I just vomit you out of my mouth.

And I want to talk to you later about what that means. It's not the Christians are rejecting them at all. We'll explain. Because you say I am rich and have become wealthy and have need of nothing.

And do not know that you are rich and miserable. Now watch these three because they will take our three points from these and then three things later that conclude that go inside with these poor blind and naked poor blind and naked.

I counsel you to buy from me gold. Remember he said your poor but I count you to buy gold. Refining the fire that you may re rich and white garments that you may be clothed he told them they were naked.

That the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed and anoint your eyes with eyes have that you may see. Remember he told them they were blind.

As many as I love, I rebuke and chase him. So he's he is still saying this he's telling him listen if I didn't love you, I wouldn't even write you a letter.

But I'm doing this not because your sins haven't been forgiven because your sins have been forgiven. I'm doing this because you're hurting yourself. That's the reason I'm rebuking you right now or correcting you.

Therefore be zealous and repent change your mind. And then here's a very famous verse that also most of the time is misapplied. Behold I stand at the door knock.

If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come into him and die with him. I want you to we'll come back to the word dying is where we get our word dinner.

And the old King James says sup with him it's where we get our word supper. So you know if you if you live in the north the evening meal is called dinner if you live in the south it's called supper.

I don't know if you'll ever notice that.

All right so anyway I've learned to say dinner because I grew up saying when supper all right here we go.

I that you know that if I was I don't preach twice anymore but if I did I'd make a note that that wasn't as funny as I thought it was going to be all right here we go.

I don't want to do that okay verse 21 to him who overcomes our grant to sit with me on my throne as I also overcame and sat down on my father on his throne.
