What's good internet it is February 12th 2021 and you are listening to another special episode

of Waypoint Radio as we've talked about before.

These Friday episodes for the next couple of weeks are going to include or be the full extended

version of the panels that have come at the end of each of the weekly reset episodes.

Reset again is the TV show that we consulted on, peered in and some other stuff that was

kind of spearheaded by our friends over at Vice News.

Today we have two panels that come from the two episodes this week.

Those episodes, the first one and the second one both deal with the US military and its involvement

with video games. The first one kind of tracks the history of games coming out of the military

and then being used both in terms of multiplayer development stuff that comes out of military

training networks and then also some PTSD research.

But I think the panel that goes to that one had some really important context and kind of

it's definitely one that I would love to have included all of inside of that actual episode

that again is Dexter Thomas, Matt Galt is on that Steve Kernen who is a veteran who has become

an anti-war activist in the time since and also a short story writer who served in the early 2000s

and then I'm on that one too and I think we get into some of the harder questions.

More critical discussion about the US military, about the ways in which games are used to further its

goals and kind of push back on some of what the military's own representatives say in interviews

in that episode or maybe not their representatives but proxies, people who are working on technologies

etc. The second interview is with again with Dexter and Matt but also with Ian Boudreau who if you

don't know Ian works for PC games and where he covers a bunch of stuff inside of the world of
