DC, which is prompted Republicans to line up against the 705,000 residents of DC getting

representation in Congress.

Now there's a whole gamut of excuses being thrown out by Republicans, so I just want to

cover what I can, ranging from the ridiculous to the more quietly insidious.

So first off, Republicans have claimed that DC can't possibly be a state because there's

A comment that prompted Congresswoman Mondair Jones to say this.

One of my house Republican colleagues said that DC shouldn't be a state because the
