Republicans in America's Senate blocked a spending package that included military aid for Ukraine.

Earlier, Mitch McConnell, the Republican Senate Minority Leader,

said that his party would withhold support unless Democrats agreed to migration restrictions at America's southern border.

President Joe Biden accused Republicans of, quote,

playing chicken with our national security.

The 111 billion dollar bill also includes aid for Israel.

The UN said that over 600,000 people were under evacuation orders in southern Gaza, which has become

the focus of Israel's operations, but that there was nowhere safe for them to go as shelters are full.

The Israel Defence Force called Tuesday its quote most intense day yet

as it clashed with Hamas in several areas including Han Yunus, a big city

in the South.

Vladimir Putin, Russia's president, met with Mohammed bin Salman, the de facto ruler of Saudi Arabia

as part of a rare trip abroad. Oil and the war in Gaza are on the agenda.

Earlier Mr. Putin met with Mohammed bin Zaid,

the ruler of Abu Darby and the president of the United Arab Emirates.
