| 0:40.1 | President Trump's decision to slap major tariffs on Mexico and Canada. |
| 0:44.3 | He's doubling the tariffs on Chinese imports. |
| 0:46.9 | It's a move that has a lot of Americans nervous that's certainly reflected in the markets. |
| 0:51.1 | At a time when Americans are still grappling with high housing prices, |
| 0:54.8 | how high gross free prices, inflation is as stubborn as it is. Why is a trade war the right |
| 1:00.4 | approach right now? Well, I think you want to look at these things in two separate buckets. |
| 1:05.0 | As it relates to China, President Trump did this in his first term. We didn't see inflation. |
| 1:10.0 | We tried to rebalance the scales a little bit, |
| 1:12.7 | and we saw record wage growth among every demographic in the country. And so we were doing |
| 1:17.6 | quite well when those tariffs went in place. And by the way, Joe Biden kept them in place. |
| 1:21.8 | And as relates to Canada and Mexico, this is really about getting them to deal seriously |
| 1:26.5 | with not just illegal immigration |
| 1:28.2 | or southern border and northern border, but also as relates to fentanyl. And people might dismiss |
