Hi, and welcome to the Five Word Prayers Daily, a five-day-a-week daily devotional where we share the word, prayers, in our heart.

I'm Lisa Whittle, and I welcome you to

just five minutes with me, which I trust and pray will be five minutes well spent. It's the last day

of our journey through Put Your Warrior Boots on, and I hope it's been helpful and inspiring to you.

of walking Jesus strong in this world that seems to have gone crazy, I know. Today we're going to

dive into the boots of trust and more importantly, the active way we trust Jesus, not just say we

trust in, but actively move forward in that in our daily lives. Let's talk about it. I'm not sure if there's a

more discussed topic than trust in Christendom. I don't care how long you've been a believer.

Trust is a struggle. It seems every single day for every single one of us. We struggle to trust

God, even when we sing the songs on

Sunday that say, I trust you. We pray, God, I trust you. That's a prayer I often pray. And listen,

I think we should pray, I trust you, God, even when we don't necessarily feel like it. Because it's a

practice that over time we develop, and the goal is for our heart to engage in the way our minds know

and believe we should because God is worthy of our trust, our full trust. I don't believe God

gets tired of us saying that we trust him. He knows we're flesh and weak and struggle to trust him.

But I believe that his desire is for us to show him we trust him by the things we do. We've got to take it to that next step. He wants to see action behind the words and the intent. So I think there are two ways we show God that we trust him. And these are two chapters in the book that are especially dear to me in this boots of trust section. Here they are. We show God we trust him by

first choosing God and two by following God forever. Now I know what you may be thinking, Lisa,

I'm a believer. I've already done that. I've already chosen God, right? But here's a thing.
