Chris Mortensen passed away on Sunday March 3, 2024 at the age of 72.
Mort was a former ESPN Senior NFL Insider. He was honored by the Professional Football Writers of America (PFWA) with the prestigious Dick McCann Award for his long and distinguished contribution to pro football in 2016 and was honored during the Pro Football Hall of Fame's enshrinement ceremony.
Today, we remember Chris Mortensen and bring back a clip of him sharing his testimony of faith on the Sports Spectrum podcast from February 20, 2019.

| 0:40.7 | I was in a room with more pretty much every Sunday during the NFL season watching games |
| 0:45.3 | with him and Chris Berman and Tom Jackson and Trent Dilfer and Adam Schaefter and just some |
| 0:51.3 | legends in that room. Matthew Barry. So many great people, Kishon Johnson, |
| 0:55.5 | Chris Carter, Mike Dick, like so many people that I got to watch football with on Sundays for many, |
| 1:00.6 | many years. And Mort was one of those guys. And I just loved being around him. He always brought a |
| 1:06.4 | smile to people's faces. But a lot of people didn't realize, I don't think, because how are you going to |
| 1:11.8 | talk about faith in a war room on a Sunday watching NFL? But Mort was a devout follower of Jesus. |
| 1:18.6 | And I was so thankful in 2019 when I invited Mort to come on sports spectrum. And he said yes. |
