This week on forward.

I felt more and more as I did work around homelessness that it was this highly individualized disaster,

this non-shared trauma.

Really, like everyone just went through an earthquake or a flood or a fire,

but no one knows that the other person just went through the same thing.

We would never look at each other as like housed people as a primary

identity and yet we've defined an entire group of people by their lack of one

physical need which is the homeless.

Given the precarity of 40% of people not knowing where they get $400

for an unexpected emergency,

it's actually surprising that we don't have more people experiencing homelessness in this country.

on the podcast I interview an incredible guy named Kevin Adler who started miracle messages and he wrote a new book called When We Walk By.

It's about homelessness. He spent the last 10 years or so reconnecting 800 homeless people to their loved ones and families.

It's uplifting and invigorating.
