0:38.3	My name is Bano Gokharicsela and I'm one of the organizers of the encountering difference,
0:53.3	embodying boundaries, and unsettling borders, Middle Eastern refugees and immigrants in the European Union Conference.
1:01.0	This conference took place completely virtually over five weeks in the fall of 2020.
1:07.0	In this podcast, I will chat with the other conference organizers about the five conference sessions.
1:14.6	All of the conference organizers are feminist geographers with connections to the Department of Geography at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the United States.
1:25.6	I am professor of geography and have been at UNC since 2005.
1:31.3	My scholarship primarily focuses on politics of bodies and everyday life in Turkey. Dr. Nathan
1:38.5	Swanson and Dr. Devran Khorai Ejal received their PhDs at UNC Geography.
1:46.0	Lily Herbert, Suad Jabber and Bittel Aikach are currently working towards their doctoral degrees
1:53.0	in the same program at UNC Geography.
