Summary

In this special episode of Sounds Like Hate Season 4, we travel back to the months leading up to Jan. 6, 2021, to track white supremacists as they plan, prepare and execute their violent plot to attack the U.S. Capitol and overturn an election. Listen now as we examine the events that should have been 'red flags' in 2020 as the hate and extremism movement reached a boiling point in the lead up to Jan. 6, 2021.

0:18.0	cast its electoral votes for Joe Biden on January 6th, 2021, when all hell broke loose.

0:38.3	And at this point they've put a large piece of furniture in front of the doors and
0:44.3	plainclosed officers had their guns drawn.
0:48.3	There was glass that was broken on the actual door as well.

0:57.7	we're told to lie down, which we do.
1:01.0	It's about between 30 and 40 of us.
1:05.5	Then she heard gunshots, and her heart sank.
1:10.1	And I remember placing my cheek on that cold floor
1:14.4	and had the sense of resignation that I was going to die.
1:23.2	Representative Speer and the others trapped in the chambers with her survived.
1:29.6	But in total, five people died as a result of the January 6th insurrection.
1:36.4	This included a female rioter who was fatally shot by a police officer
1:41.2	as she tried to hurl herself into a window near the house chamber.
