0:08.4	My child comes to me and says why are we Christians? What's the answer to that?
0:12.8	Yeah, boy, great question.
0:14.8	It's an important one for us to be able to answer.
0:17.2	I actually, I love the question.
0:18.6	So if I were asked that question by my kids today at 18 or 20, it'd be different than when they're
0:25.4	five or seven, right? There's a purpose to the question. And so the older the kids get, the more there's behind that question. And so it's good to ask a question back as well.
0:35.0	Why are you curious about that?
0:38.4	I appreciate that you're curious about why I'm a Christian and I love the question and I want to answer it.
0:43.2	Where's that coming from? Just to understand the context, are they wanting to really
0:47.3	listen to it or is there a conflict that is about to happen?
0:51.2	And so knowing where they're coming from is important. But then from there,
0:55.3	the way I love to answer this is, I say I have decided and I've looked at all the evidence and have found that the only trustworthy belief is in being a follower of Christ.
1:08.0	And for me it's been an intellectual discovery and that was the initial one and then I had doubts because there's only so much you can get from the intellectual side and you can see evidence but then the doubts creep in and then there's been a relational evidence that has been important to
1:25.1	solidify the faith and I've allowed for that to happen and at 16 I remember
1:29.3	asking the question I'd gone to Christian school I'd been raised in everything Christian.
1:35.0	Then I said is this really real? I mean have I been duped and my parents
1:39.7	it's just their belief and now it's mine all the traditional questions there.
1:44.6	And then through experiences, a variety of experiences,
1:49.2	a string of experiences where I felt the relational connectedness and a supernatural intervention in my life through Christ.
1:57.0	And I allowed myself to see that.
1:59.0	That's when I said, there's no doubt that God is real is real he's pursuing me and his word is continually speaking
