Last time on Appalachian Mysteria, a state trooper was fired for speaking out

about alleged misconduct in the investigation.

He testified about the matter and lashed out at Morgan Town's Dominion News.

Close to the six-year anniversary of Meridan Karen's disappearance,

Eugene Paul Klossen confessed to the murders.

Hair was found in an animal's nest near where he claimed to throw the heads.

He claimed to have taken from them a necklace, a class ring and a watch.

Karen was believed to have been wearing a class ring on a necklace the night she vanished.

Once he was returned to New Jersey, Klossen passed a polygraph test containing three questions about the co-ed murders.

While awaiting trial, Klossen recanted his confessions,

saying that they'd been based on a detective cases magazine story.
