Welcome into the lounge presented by Draft Kings. I'm Ryan Mink here with Garrett Downing.

Raven suffered a tough 38 to 30 loss here at METBank Stadium on Monday night football.

0:14.5

In a game Garrett that I think we can both agree was very unravens-like in multiple ways.

0:20.7

We're going to break it down for you all here

0:23.1

tonight. And Garrett, I think let's start with our three biggest takeaways from tonight's game.

0:29.5

To me, the first one that jumps out, the poorest run defense for the Ravens, they give up

0:35.0

225 rushing yards on the ground.

0:38.3

That's the third most during the Harbaugh era.

0:42.3

It included a 72-yard run by David Montgomery of the Lions.

0:46.3

We knew that this lion's backfield was really good.

0:48.3

Jameer Gibbs, Dave Montgomery, they have a good offensive line,

0:51.3

but that's just not good enough for the Ravens defense.

0:54.7

It's just not what we're used to seeing from this team, and it's not going to be good enough

0:59.8

moving forward. It was everything, the lines did a lot of things well offensively in this game,

1:06.3

but it starts with their running game and their ability to pick up chunk plays and to move the

1:10.2

ball to get in short yard situations on second and third down. All of it comes back to their ability to run the ball. And I thought, I thought the quote that stood out to me was from Kyle Hamilton and talking about the run defense. And he said, we just can't take it for granted. Like, we're all used to this around here with the run defense being really good. It's hard to put up 100 yards on this team. They, that's just how they typically have operated. If you've been watching Ravens football for the last 30 years, teams typically don't come into this stadium and run the ball effectively. Certainly not like they did tonight. And Hamilton's point is like, just because it's always been good doesn't mean that it's going to be good just because of that.

1:46.3

And this is, I think, kind of a wake-up call to some degree to this defense and the way

1:53.0

that they play because this is not where they are accustomed to.

1:57.6

And I think that they, in hearing from the team leaders after this game, they're taking

2:00.8

a hard look in the mirror of what they need to do differently to avoid any kind of repeat performance like this. Well, obviously, the Ravens came into this game, shorthanded defensively. Two big losses, Nabdi Maddabeeke was sideline because of a neck injury. Kyle Van Nuoy because of a hamstring injury. I mean, these are two Pro Bowl guys,

2:19.0

you know,

2:19.4

and they've been the Ravens sack leaders
