Coming to you from the broadcast booth of one of the greatest venues in all of sports home of UCLA football home of the Rose Bowl on New Year's Day, the granddaddy of them all.

At the Rose Bowl in Pasadena this week home to the NFL PA collegiate bowl, Rhett Lewis and Bucky Brooks here with you as we welcome you to the latest edition of the move the sticks podcast this.

A place that Bucky and I will be on January 18th at seven o'clock Eastern time getting set to call this game for the first time on NFL network and excited to see with a lot of these top players in college football have to offer their out here practicing all week.

What we're out here for today getting set to watch practice and we'll give you a couple of players to watch out for from the NFL PA collegiate bowl here and just a little bit but Bucky got a bunch of other stuff on the docket today is so much of the stuff to talk about.

I mean, Rhett when you just think about the NFL and the new cycle that we in is championship weekend and obviously there's a lot of conversation that goes on with that and the press conferences leading up but man so much news pop and we have the Carolina Panthers dominating the headlines.

We're talking about that. Luke Kekeley retired Joe Brady being hired as the offensive coordinator. We obviously have to get in there man the conference championships.

And then you know the Tennessee Titans and the emergence of Derek Henry coming out of college some of those things and then finally we talked about the NFL PA collegiate bowl being able to talk about some of these prospects us being on the call.

I'm really excited to see some of these guys had a chance to talk to those guys on Monday so just get a chance to see them do it on the grass.

I'm excited about it all I was out here on Tuesday for their practices and all should mention mentioned Mark Ross is going to join us in the booth on Saturday Omar Ruiz has been out here all week.

He'll be down on the field for us as our sideline reporter really excited for that but let's start with the news out of Carolina and first let's give the proper respect to Luke Kekeley retiring at the age of 28.

May the announcement in a video that the Carolina Panthers sent out on Twitter we're talking about a guy who played eight years in the league over a thousand tackles.

I mean he was a big play machine and I mean the amount of respect that poured in from across the league about what it not only what a football player this dude was and was one of the best the game has seen.

But what a teammate he was bucking what a what a guy in a person he is off the field man. If I'm his parents I'm pretty proud today.

Look they should be very proud of the man that he is the teammate that he was with the Carolina Panthers and even at Boston College and the player that he was in terms of the production and the performance that he put on the field in eight years like look.

So he's a hard-known he is one of the best that has played in this generation. I think when you talk to people around the organization they would tell you that look he was outstanding leader.

He had all the football instincts and IQ that you desire and the leader of the team he was able to set the defense communicate everything and the way that he played.

Look he was a great athlete anyone who watched him at the combine when he came out he lit up the combine from his athletic standpoint.

But then when you combine that athleticism with the instinct she's talking about a guy that plays fast.

Unique and his ability to play like a Tasmanian devil but also understand the game at a high level is hard to find players who have all of those traits.
