He says, Salah came into the building on Wednesday,

not expecting to be let go.

The decision to fire him was a surprise as it came directly from ownership.

More to that part of the story was that he came in expecting to get ready for the next game. Ownership came into his office, fired him, and security escorted him out of the building.
