Everyone, as I mentioned on Tuesdays, open Ask Me Anything episode for all realignment

listeners regardless of their subscription status. This is basically a

vacation week for the realignment. We've been going at a heavy clip and a break from the usual programming

schedule has been much appreciated. That said, I mentioned a few months ago that I was bringing back

my RE something interesting series focused on just

interesting topics, conversations and authors that aren't usually directly

related to the political system and the way a typical realignment episode is, but instead speak to broader issues in our society.

I'm pumped to restart that series with this special Thursday episode with this great book that I

really enjoyed it's called American Flannel how a band of entrepreneurs are

bringing the art and business of making clothes back home. My guest today is Stephen Kurtz. He is a reporter of the

New York Times and American Final is all about looking at this manufacturing and

reshoring of America's industries through the lens of the clothing industry.

Huge portions of America's economy going back to the 1970s were dominated by

the manufacturing of clothing, yet that industry largely went overseas.

So looking at the entrepreneurs who since the 2000s have been trying to do just that,

bringing that manufacturing process back home has been incredibly

enlightening and I think speaks to bigger trends that the realignment is focused
