Okay, my name is Father David Nix.

This is the Padre Peregrino podcast.

And as you know, we look at the Roman Catechism of Trent. That is an infallible, 500-year-old catechism.

And I rarely quote the new catechism.

That's the one that came out in 1992 by Pope Jean-Paul-2.

There are some errors in it.

It's not infallible.

And so we don't use it very much, but most of it's pretty good.

And I am going to give you a quote from it today because it fills in a couple holes on certain definitions that we're going to get to in the RCT.

So I want to read you, Catechism of the Catholic Church, usually abbreviated CCC 2089. So this is CCC 2089. It reads thus,

incredulity is the neglect of revealed truth or the willful refusal to assent to it.

Heresy is the obstinate, post-baptismal denial of some truth, which must be believed with divine and Catholic faith, or it is likewise an obstinate doubt concerning the same.

Apostasy is the total repudiation of the Christian faith.
