Summary

This is episode 008 of RAWtalk with Jared and Stephen.

Today we talk about a book I fell in love with.  I surprised a kid at the Soccer match when I asked if he would like to use the $14,000 400 2.8. And the Bernie Doc is basically done...finally....it only took almost 3 years.

Hey, Stephen, which folder do you think is the one for you? The one that says Stephen or the one that says Bernie?

0:06.4

Probably Stephen. You're sure about this. You want to... If I had to guess, can I phone a friend?

0:11.5

Yeah, sure. Phone a friend. Yeah, I wish you guys were watching. Anyway, welcome to Roll Talk episode number eight.

0:18.3

I'm Jared and you're... Stephen. He's Stephen. Dan doesn't have a microphone,

0:23.6

but he may be showing up today to drop something off. He's got to pick up. Actually,

0:27.9

we've been using the sand disk extreme SSDs, the super duper fast four gigabyte ones. It's like

0:34.6

2,000 megabytes a second right speed. Oh, they're super fast. Where it's just much easier when we've got EVF clips and a bunch of clips. I can put a

0:42.7

folder together, put a bunch of stuff on it in a matter of minutes or less than a couple

0:46.7

minutes for Dan instead of always uploading the Dropbox and then having, we upload everything

0:51.0

in Dropbox anyway just so that's archived. The only pain the ass part about Dropbox is if you do upload individual files,

0:58.4

Dropbox automatically zips them for you when you go to download them.

1:01.5

But the way Dropbox is set up, it's only set up for like fat 32 zip files.

1:06.0

So nothing bigger than four gigabytes actually works when you go to unzip it on your end.

1:10.2

It gives you like an error which is frustrating so you can only download like 10 clips at a time for it to zip you can't just

1:15.3

download the whole folder and it's a major pain in the ass unless you as the uploader upload a giant

1:20.9

zip file to begin with which is painly which is a pain in the ass onto itself because it has to zip

1:25.2

then it has to unzip it's a pain in the ass but it's just easy to zip, then it has to unzip. It's a pain in the ass. But it's just easy to give him that folder, sorry, to give him that drive. And the other thing

1:31.6

that I've done is being that Sanzas sent us a bunch of these, they sent us like the data lock or

1:36.7

whatever SSDs. I've always had trouble backing up with time machine using an old spinning hard drive one of the really inexpensive little

1:46.6

take forever or it would take forever and then it wouldn't when it wouldn't complete it would

1:50.9

never finish the backup as the files got larger and larger and we're talking like a three you know

1:56.0

two to four gigabyte terabyte external little drive,
