This is a book about how books can bring people together and how that bond can last a lifetime.

There are no in-depth discussions of symbolism.

No characters are painstakingly analyzed and no one stops what they are doing to ponder

the meaning of a line or phrase while writing a roller coaster, eating a sandwich, or dancing

to a swing band.

My father and I did these things and perhaps they could have made for a good book, but it

is not this book.

This book is about the act of reading and the time spent doing it.
