As a fan, it's like you want to be positive, but then like we've been talking about,

you rewatch some of this film and it's like, man, what is just going on?

Let's switch to the offense. We haven't talked offensive side of the ball very much at all yesterday or today.

We had a short show yesterday. And of course, we spent the pretty much most of the first hour talking

about the defense. So we saw Notre Dame run the Wildcat a few times against Texas A&M Saturday.

Marcus Freeman talked at his press conference on Monday about the benefit of doing those

direct snaps to the running back versus a short yardage package that might include backup quarterback

Kenny Minchie. And here's what he said about that. If you're truly going to commit the

running the ball in that situation, Then Jeremiah Love or one of our

running backs is going to be a better runner than anybody with the ball in her hands. But, you know,

Kenny Minchie gives you another asset of being able to throw it and run it. And again,

CJ Carr isn't a dud. He can run, you know, if we need

them to run. But I don't know if you love your quarterback taking those hits in some of those

short yards situations. That's not to discredit Riley, like we didn't care about Riley, you know.

But again, it's the creativity that you have to have, but also it's the production that you believe that package or that play is going to have.
