understand the path that you took in case you have young people out there who want to

emulate you. But walk us through the arc of your career and yours is, shall I say, a storied one in

academia and a public intellectual, but walk us through the arc of your career

from Justice Marshall's Chambers to joining Harvard's faculty and now being one of the more senior members of the Harvard law faculty.

Did you always see yourself as an academic and intellectual?

No, not always.

I want to take it further back.
