I'm sorry that I didn't get her because she and her people are the cause of all the trouble.

I'll stand for anything I've done and I won't fight the case at all we separated twice and the

last time about six weeks ago I went to New York to try to forget her I wrote about

the baby and asked and asked about it but got no answer she wouldn't let me see the

baby and I couldn't forget.

I wanted her to get away from her people and a lady friend, but she wouldn't come away with me.

My business was all broken up and I tried to start again in New York. I went to the theaters

and places and tried to forget. I wrote home about

the baby but didn't hear anything and I decided to come to Washington again. I got here yesterday at

3.30. I had no idea of doing anything but getting her. She was the cause of all the trouble,

and I wanted to put her away. I went downtown to a pawn shop and bought a gun. I had no idea

of killing anyone but her. Then began to drink never drank anything up to

two months ago never drank anything except on the holidays and then I never took much

but I went to New York I tried to forget it all and took to drink. I've been drinking like a fish ever since.

Never stopped to count. Don't know what I drank. Just drank. That's all.

My business went to pieces before I left here. Everything was all wrong.

I couldn't see the baby and they wouldn't let me in.

When I started home, I didn't

want to kill anybody, but my wife. I'm not crazy. It doesn't take a crazy man to make up his mind

to end his troubles in the only way he knows. I wanted to get justice. I wasn't treated right or fair. I've got money, owned real estate here,
