My brothers and sisters, we are going through the verses of the Qur'an and going through some of the reasons of revelation

of some of these verses and yesterday I had promised you that I would start off by making mention of the

story of the key of the Qada and

this narration is made mention of

by Ibn Mardewah

narrated by ibn Abbas Radyallahu'an

and there is another narration which is made mention of by al-Wahidi, Rahmatullah alayhi

in his book known as reasons of revelation. He has a book known as as Babul Nuzul

so there are two narrations and the reason why I make mention of the fact that there are two separate narrations is because

the person involved known as Rufma'na-b-Nitalha

there is a discrepancy as to whether he accepted Islam upon the victory of Makkah or whether he accepted Islam

just prior to the victory of Makkah between Hodeibia and the victory of Makkah

there is also a question as to whether it is exactly the same person because some make mention of

Ibn Talha and some say Ibn Abit Talha

so if it is the nephew and the uncle then there are two different people

however let's go with the combination of al-Wahidi and thereafter I will make quick mention of the other narration as well

he says at the time of the victory of Makkah Muhammad salallahu alayhi wa salam
