Hello and welcome to today's In Conversation with Podcasts. I'm Georgie Corrude Cole, the founder and editor of Sherylux. And today I'm excited to be hosting a parenting condition of the podcast. These days, I'm very aware of as a mother that we are all as parents more aware than ever

that bringing up well-rounded, happy children comes down to so much more than just academic

success. A broad range of skills, be it fast decision-making, good interview techniques,

or just feeling self-confident in life,

are all considered necessary building blocks for a successful future.

Today, I'm thrilled to be joined by Hugo Shepard, the founder of role models,

and Brodie Bibby, founder of choice coaching, two businesses that are complementary, but non-competing, that are dedicated

to maximising a child's potential. And they are here today to discuss how we as parents

can help our children be the best versions of themselves as a pretty big topic. Welcome, Hugo, welcome Brady.

I'm really excited for what this podcast has in store, no pressure. Thank you, Georgie. Yes, thanks very

much for having us. Well, I'm going to start with a bit of context, which is I have a 10-year-olds,

you know, at that age of life where things are becoming a bit more complicated, should I say, whether that's relationships at school, whether that's mental health, whether that's, you know, the next school that she in my case or he is going to go to, you know, things, there's suddenly another layer, I think, as a parent, and it's becoming very apparent to me that I need to be very present and

really helping to equip my children for their futures so that it can be the best passions

of themselves. Both of your businesses will put on my radar by a woman who she's a real grown

up, should I say. I think she's in her late 60s, who was a very successful head for her career,

and now consult, helping parents make decisions for next schools. And anyway, she said to me,

God, you really must check out choice coaching and role models. At the same time, my children's

school had put role models in front of us as something that we might think about for our children. And anyway, we got back in touch. And here we are so pleased to be

able to share what you both do with the Sherlock listeners. Brodie, I'm going to come to you first.

Can you tell us a little bit about you and your background? And I'm going to say this. I'm going

to start this. I just throw this one out that you were my teacher. This is a complete coincidence when I was eight, I think. Yeah. Small world, hey? Yeah, I recognised your name and it was kind of, oh my goodness, this is a blast from the past, Georgia. But I'm delighted to say, you haven't changed at all. You're still full of life and energy and happiness.

I'm having to get used to calling you Brody and not Mr Brody, as we had to call you at school.
