Welcome to Sunday. Get your coffee, get your latte, have a bagel, relax, put your

0:06.2

AirPods in, your Google Pixel Buds, your Air Max Pro Plus over the year or whatever jams,

0:11.4

whatever you're into, and relax. You're into and enjoy. VC Sunday School, we're going to talk

0:16.7

about raising a fund in public 506C is our topic today. Yep, if you are a fund manager,

0:24.6

a brand new VC, I'm just trying to understand how the LP relationship works. If you're

0:29.5

a potential LP, this is a super interesting conversation. And of course, it's Sunday, so it's

0:38.4

this week in climate startups. Molly is going to interview the founder and chief scientist of

0:43.0

brilliant planet. What do they do, Molly? Give people a look at this. This is so interesting. This

0:48.1

is a company that is figuring out how to grow algae in ponds. They use seawater to create the

0:53.5

perfect conditions for big algae blooms, not the dangerous kind, but big algae blooms, which are

0:59.2

that algae, they bury it and sequester all this carbon, giga tons, by the way. They're literally

1:12.2

talking about two giga tons of carbon, which is a massive scale. Once they get there, they raise

1:17.6

$25 million and they're going to make money by turning all of that into high quality carbon offsets

1:22.0

and telling it on the open market. And in between the two segments, we have a big conversation

1:25.0

about ESG and like you do, climate denial. It's like a little 20-minute detour, but you're going to

1:29.5

love it. It's going to be a great show. It is. Stick with us. This week in startups is brought to you by

1:34.6

OpenPhone. As a startup founder, a lot of mistakes are easy to roll back, but using your personal

1:40.6
