The Raiders are guaranteed the number one or number two pick in April's draft.

But even with the victory on Sunday versus Kansas City,

there's still a shot at the number one spot.

Segment number two, New Year's resolutions. I like to do that each and every year. We gave out holiday gifts for the Raiders last week, and now we're going to go ahead and give out some New Year's resolutions. We'll do it a little bit early, only because tomorrow's show is supposed to be the crossover edition, the final one of the 2025 season, Raiders and Chiefs. So we're expected to have that to ring in the New Year's. So we'll see how that goes. But New Year's resolutions will break down in segment number two of today's Lockdown Raiders podcast here in segment segment number one news and notes of the day and we'll jump into that after I tell you about the title sponsor of the show, which is Game Time. And you know again never like talking about the draft super early but it's not super early anymore right

it's going into week 18. It's the final week of the season. We know that they're locked in at one of those two spots. And a lot of the conversation is, yeah, well, now Kansas City's probably going to find a way to lose just so the Raiders don't end up with the number one spot. They end up with number two. But that's not necessarily the case. There still is a way that the Raiders could actually win the game on Sunday and still end up with the number one overall pick. First of all, if the Giants lose, right, there's two easy ways for the Raiders to end up with the number one overall pick. The Giants lose to the Cowboys or the Raiders lose to the Chiefs. That's the easy part. But there's other scenarios that are in play here that could impact this game on Sunday and, you know, it could almost give the Raiders an opportunity to have their cake and eat it too. And what I mean by that is getting the number one pick securing that and still beating down the Chiefs and finally getting a victory over them in your home in allegiance stadium. So here it is. Review Journal on Raider Nation Radio 920 did a really good breakdown on that in the RJ

Vegas Nation.com. You can check it out and read it. But basically he said the Raiders could still

beat the Chiefs on Sunday and secure the top pick even if the Giants lose.

So say that Dallas beats the Giants, there's still a scenario where the Raiders could end up

with the number one spot, even with the victory.

So for that to happen, the Raiders would need the Seattle Seahawks to lose to the 49ers,

the Cleveland Browns to lose to the Cincinnati Bengals, and the Falcons to lose to the Saints.

Or two of those outcomes combined with the Bears lost to the Lions would also guarantee

the Raiders the number one pick no matter what the Raiders or Giants do on Sunday.
