In this lecture, I discuss Joseph Smith's First vision accounts in detail.

In fact, the entire lecture is given over to this one subject.

At the beginning, I say I'm going to be covering the first vision,

plus a different subject, but it ends up being that the first vision plus a different subject but it ends up being that the

first vision accounts take up the entire class time and I have to postpone the

second subject until the next lecture. That next subject, by the way, is going to be Joseph Smith's involvement

with magic and treasure digging, so that will be of interest too.

I certainly am not shying away from the difficult issues related to Mormonism in these lectures.

Like welcome you out to class today. What we're going to be talking about today is

in general Joseph Smith. We'll be talking about him next week too.

Today, we're going to address two aspects

that have come under attack by critics of the church.
