Within pretty much any religion, it is traditional

to come up with faith-promoting stories,

with stories of The Miraculous,

with stories of divine miraculous, with stories of divine intervention,

and with stories that by these miracles and divine intervention

demonstrate in some way the truth of the religion that is creating and recounting these stories.

In no religion or church is that phenomenon more apparent and at work than in the Church of

Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which has as one of its

cardinal tenets the idea that miracles still occur today in the Lord's Church, i.e. the LDS Church, because it is the same church that existed in

New Testament times and the same church that existed in Old Testament times.

And the miracles that occurred in the Old Testament and the New Testament are still at work

and that power is still at play today in the Lord's Church.

The purpose of telling such faith-promoting stories is to promote the faith, but unfortunately when such stories are told, they are frequently able to be dismantled.

And if any investigation at all is done into the story frequently the miraculous aspects of the story evaporate like the morning mist before the rising sun.

In 2017 the LDS Church was treated to at least three such stories.

Two of them were told in general conference in April of 2017.
