The most on point teaching that we tell us in the Catholic Church have to go by, when it comes to the prudential question, what moral matter ought to be legislated or regulated and what moral matters ought to be left to the private domain.

Here's the most we have. Thomas Aquinas saying that all

virtue should not be required just as all vice should not be proscribed. And remember,

Thomas Aquinas advocated that prostitution need not be illegal, right? This means, this doesn't

mean he's advocating it.

This is shocking to the modern mind which operates on this false dichotomy of, you know, a kind of, you know, 90s-ish libertarianism.

It would just fall in very out of favor.

Like I say, I'd be very

surprised if there are two dozen people in our audience which would defend it

that says you know basically log legal positivism no nothing moral should be

legalized or illegalized nothing of a moral animating nature should be the

soul of a given law, state or fed.

And on the other side, it's not as simple as if it's wrong, you from the top, from Rome

or Constantinople, you illegalize it, you proscribe it.
