Hello and welcome to best laid plans. This is Sarah Hart Unger and you are at the podcast where we talk about all things planning and planning adjacent.

0:19.1

Today's episode is going to be all about the quintile. Now,

0:23.6

those of you who are familiar with my work on other podcasts or have been listening for a while,

0:28.6

you may know what I'm talking about when I say quintile. However, this is not a word that has made

0:34.8

it into the mainstream vernacular, so I guess I will do a little

0:38.0

bit of an introduction here.

0:40.3

So I have decided that the year should be divided up instead of into four quarters, as is more

0:45.5

common, into five quintiles.

1:22.2

I have to say, I don't think my planning mechanisms for each quintile are as robust as some of my rituals and rhythms that go along with the months or the weeks or the days or even the years.

1:35.0

There is no accident as to why I've already discussed many of those other things.

1:40.1

And in case you are a new listener and are interested in going into deep dives of each of these

1:44.9

kind of planning intervals, I discussed daily planning on episode number 28, weekly planning on

1:50.4

episode number two. That was very early in one of the first episodes I recorded for this podcast,

1:55.7

and that's probably because my weekly plan is the one I am most solidified in and feel very

1:59.9

confident about,
