Andy and I are going to try and do these every day to get you up to speed and spin forward to the next day's play.

Day one, not just of the 2025 Australian Open, but of all major play for this year. And as the majors

try to spread and creep and do their man spread and do their manifest destiny wrapping around

three weekends, sometimes these get off to slow start to sort of like soft openings for restaurants,

that was not the case in Melbourne, a full boat of matches with some of the best

players. A little bit of rain interrupted things. Spoiler alert. Not a whole lot in terms of upsets or

eye-popping results. Just sort of a smooth day of tennis to ease us into this tournament.
